6th Key – Visceral Manipulation

Visceral Manipulation

Viscera relates to the internal organs of the body such as the liver, kidneys, and intestines. Visceral manipulation is a gentle massage therapy that aids your body’s ability to release restrictions and unhealthy compensations that cause pain and dysfunction. It does not focus solely on the site of the pain but evaluate the entire body to find the source of the problem. The therapist feels for altered or creased motion within the viscera as well as the restrictive patterns throughout the body and then applies visceral manipulation techniques. The therapy reestablishes the body’s ability to adapt and restore itself to health.

It can benefit acute disorders such as whiplash, seatbelt injuries, chest or abdominal sports injuries; musculoskeletal disorders such as headaches and migraines, carpal tunnel syndrome, back, hip and knee pain and sciatica, digestive disorders such as acid reflux, bloating and constipation, and swallowing dysfunctions; pain related to post-operative and post-infection scar tissue; women’s and men’s issues such as chronic pelvic pin, endometriosis, fibroids and cysts, dysmenorrheal, balder incontinence, and prostate dysfunction, pediatric issues such as constipation and gastritis, colic and reflux and persistent vomiting, and emotional issues such as anxiety and depression, as well as post-traumatic stress disorder.
